The theatre building is normally open to the public everyday from 9.30am until after the evening performance. On non-performance days the Tickets and Information Office remains open until 8.00pm, but other public areas of the building are usually closed at 5.00pm

Just half an hour's drive from the resort, Trotters World is a great family day out.

Demonstrations of handling the animals and audience participation events are held throughout the day.

Play areas for children and picnic areas to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings whilst the children enjoy the days activities.

The flying displays include vultures and falcons swoop overhead and watch how the barn owl catches its prey.

Just half an hours drive from the resort, the World of Beatrix Potter is a great day out for all the family.

All 23 of Beatrix Potter's tales are brought to life in a magical indoor recreation of the Lakeland countryside, complete with sights, sounds and even smells. So you can meet Peter Rabbit in Mr. McGregor’s garden, discover Jemima Puddle-duck in the woodland glade and visit Mrs. Tiggy-winkle in her kitchen.

A visit to the award winning visitor attraction, the Lakes Aquarium, formerly known as the Aquarium of the Lakes, makes a great day out for all the family. The aquarium is situated at Lakeside, on the south west bank of Lake Windermere.

Discover the mysterious world of the lakes at Britain's unique freshwater aquarium - with all new features allowing you to visit the lakes of the world along with those a little closer to home.

South Lakes Wild Animal Park is about an hour's drive from the resort, but a worthwhile family day out.

Animals from all over the world can be seen here, from Lions, Giraffes, Hippos, to Meercats, Fruit bats, Kangaroos and Emus, to name but a few. Animal feeding times go on throughout the day, from hand feeding the giraffes to apes, lemurs and penguins.

The attraction has a restaurant offering freshly made sandwiches, baguettes and rolls to Jacket Potatoes and burgers.

Trains run every day Easter to end of October.

Windermere & Bowness-on-Windermere can be found roughly at the midpoint on the east side of the longest lake in England "Lake Windermere" [10.5 miles/17km]. Windermere is situated above and away from the lake of about 1 mile/1.5km while Bowness-on-Windermere being the main tourist centre on the lake.

Carlisle is a busy industrial and market town, with many historic sites to visit. Carlisle has a strong tourist industry so there are plenty of good attractions to choose from, a range of restaurants and bars to visit and a good sized shopping centre.

If you like historic sites then the medieval Carlisle Castle is a must see, with the site dating back to Roman times.

Keswick is a market town within the district of Allerdale, Cumbria, England. With a population of 4,281, according to the 2001 census, it is situated just north of Derwent Water, and a short distance from Bassenthwaite Lake, both in the Lake District National Park. Keswick is on the A66 road linking Workington and Penrith, as well as the A591 road, linking it to Windermere, Kendal and to Carlisle (via the A595 road). It lies within the historic county boundaries of Cumberland.

Penrith is the chief northern town of the Vale of Eden, and, for many centuries, was a gateway north and south, east and west.

Theories for source of its name are that it may come from the Celtic "penn" and "rid" that mean "hill ford" or "chief ford", or "under the red hill" or even "Pen Rith" meaning "red town"-there doesn't seem to be agreement on its meaning. But all theories fit: there were two fords at Eamont Bridge nearby and the local red sandstone is clearly evident in the countryside and the buildings.
